The tank vs. tankless decision involving water heaters can be a tough one for homeowners to decide upon. The two units operate very differently, and there may be some aspects of each type that you like or don't like. If you need a new water heater and have been on the fence about choosing between a tank or tankless hot water heater, we may have the perfect solution for you: a hybrid water heater. Hybrid water heaters combine the best of both systems, offering you a great compromise between the two units. And when you hire the experts at Bronco Plumbing Heating and Air for installation, repair, maintenance or replacement, you can rest assured that your hybrid system will be well attended to. Call us today and schedule an appointment with one of our hot water heater experts!

How It Works

A hybrid water heater does two things:

• Heats water on demand

• Stores 3-8 gallons of water in a small holding tank

When you open a hot water tap in your home, the water from the holding tank, which is maintained at a set temperature, begins to flow. At the same time, cold water enters the heat exchanger, heats quickly and enters the tank, ready to be used. When you close the tap, the tank will be replenished to the fill line, ready for the next usage.

Why Use a Hybrid System?

Hybrid systems combine the best aspects of both tank and tankless systems, providing the following benefits:

Endless hot water - even though there is a small holding tank in a hybrid unit, you still have the benefit of endless hot water, as you get with a tankless unit.

Good energy efficiency - the on-demand function keeps the efficiency of a hybrid system high, allowing you to save both money and energy.

Are equipped with electronic ignition - hybrid systems are equipped with electronic ignition, which is much more efficient than standing pilot ignitions.

If you like the idea of mixing on-demand hot water with a small storage tank, then a hybrid water heater may be exactly what you've been looking for. Call the experts at Bronco Plumbing Heating and Air and let our professionals help you with your next water heater in Sacramento, CA!
