HVAC Repair and Installation in El Dorado Hills, CA

El Dorado Hills homes are big: 2,500 to 4,500 square feet in Serrano, Blackstone, Promontory, Stonegate and Highland View, most built between the mid-1990s and 2010s, most with two or three systems and long duct runs through hot attics. When the upstairs system quits in July the master bedroom hits 85 by dinner. We are about 35 minutes away in Roseville. AC repair, furnace repair, heat pump and Amana installation, Monday to Friday, from a family team licensed since 2007.

Big Houses, Long Duct Runs, West-Facing Glass

Most of El Dorado Hills was built after 1995 on foothill lots between 600 and 1,500 feet, and the houses are large by Sacramento standards. Two systems is normal; three is common in Serrano and Promontory. Long duct runs, zoned systems with dampers, and a lot of west-facing glass looking at the view all add up to cooling loads that are higher than the square footage suggests.

Those systems are now 15 to 25 years old. The pattern we see: one of the two or three units fails first, usually the one serving the upstairs or the west side, and the others are the same age.

Summers here are as hot as Roseville’s with more sun exposure on the ridges: 70 or more days at or above 90. A 2004 system in Blackstone is at the age where capacitors, fan motors and contactors go. Those are repairs, and we carry them on the truck. Zoning boards and damper motors are the other common El Dorado Hills failure, and we carry those too. Nearby, we also serve Folsom, and every city we cover is on our service areas page.

Owner Phillip Olmstead, his son Maxwell and installer Kevin Shpyrka run the El Dorado Hills calls. Jenn Fiechter books them from Roseville, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

El Dorado Hills HVAC Questions

How fast can you get to El Dorado Hills?

Most of El Dorado Hills is 33 to 40 minutes from the shop. Call before noon and most repair visits are booked for the same or the next business day, Monday to Friday.

Yes, most El Dorado Hills homes we see have two or three, often with zoning. We diagnose the failed one and check the others while we are there, because they are usually the same age.

Yes. El Dorado Hills is unincorporated, so El Dorado County issues the mechanical permit for an AC or furnace change-out and the job needs a HERS duct and refrigerant test. We file the permit and schedule the rater. Serrano and other HOA communities also have equipment placement and screening rules; we work within them.

Yes. The plan is $14.49 a month per system, so a three-system house is three plans, each with a spring and a fall visit.

No. Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Leave a message after hours and Jenn calls back first thing in the morning with the first available window.

Replaced our old system with a heat pump. The house is more even and we are now saving money every month.
