When the AC quits on a 100-degree Sacramento afternoon, what you want is a straight answer. Bronco is a family-owned shop, in business since 2007, and Sacramento is in our service area. You talk to Jenn, a technician tells you what failed and what it costs, and you decide. Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Bronco has 60 Google reviews at 4.8 stars. The first is from a Sacramento customer. The four here are about air conditioners, copied as written.
“When I came home on one of the recent 100+ degree days in Sacramento and discovered that my air conditioner had stopped working, I immediately called Bronco and, because it was after hours, left a message. The next morning I received a text from Jenn indicating that a technician was available later that morning. Phil arrived and within a short amount of time had my system up and running again. This is the kind of service I have received from this company for many years, which is why I keep coming back.”
“Phil came in the Nick of time! I was burning up in my house in the middle of summer when suddenly my AC gave out! Phil is very prompt and friendly and had the best service I’ve ever had with HVAC.”
“We had 2 other techs come out to try and figure out why our AC was not working efficiently. One recommended on the age of our unit to replace it . Bronco heating and air came out and diagnosed the problem and repaired it quickly . I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a tech who will explain whats going on and be upfront and honest with you .”
“And he didn’t try to upsell me even once! I feel like on a 90 degree day I would have bought anything he said to get my AC back running… especially after a day of hell (106*) yesterday.”
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Bronco is a family shop, in business since 2007 under CSLB license 900045. Jenn Fiechter in the Roseville office takes your call, and Phillip Olmstead, the owner, still runs calls himself. If another company has already told you to replace the system and you want to know what is actually wrong with it, that is a call we take.
Tell her what the AC is doing: warm air, ice on the lines, a noise, a tripped breaker. Monday to Friday, 8 to 5. After 5pm and on weekends, calls go to voicemail. Jenn calls back every missed number the next morning, whether or not you left a message.
Diagnosis comes first, and the technician tells you what it is.
The service call to diagnose the system is $89. After the diagnosis you hear the repair price and decide. If the system is near the end of its life, you hear that too.
Repair it, wait, or price a replacement. The call is yours.
Central systems, heat pumps in cooling mode and attic air handlers share most of these. Whatever yours is doing, tell Jenn when you call.
The system runs but the air is not cool. A failed part, a dirty coil or a low charge can all do it, and a technician has to measure to say which.
On a 100-degree stretch some long run time is expected. A house that stays warm while the system never shuts off is not.
Frost on the copper line or the indoor coil. Switch cooling off at the thermostat, run only the fan so it can thaw, and call.
Water in the pan, on the closet floor or staining a ceiling means the water the coil removes is not leaving. Switch the system off at the thermostat and call. Bronco clears AC condensate lines.
Do not keep resetting a breaker that trips when the AC starts. Switch the AC off and call, and tell us when it trips.
Grinding, rattling, buzzing, or a fan that does not spin. Switch the system off at the thermostat and tell us what you hear.
Try new batteries first. If the screen stays dark, or the AC does not respond when you change the setting, call.
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Sacramento is not one kind of house, and summers here do not let a weak system hide. These are common patterns, not a survey.
Stretches over 100 degrees are normal in the valley, and on the hottest stretches warm nights give the system little rest. Attics run hotter than the air outside, and that heat is hard on an air handler.
Many older homes here were built before central air and had it added later, often with ducts fitted into whatever space was left. When you call, tell us how old the system is and where the air handler sits.
Many Natomas homes were built in the 1990s and 2000s, and many have the air handler in the attic, where it works through the worst of the summer heat. A failed capacitor, contactor or fan motor is a repair.
Electricity in Sacramento comes from SMUD, and a system that runs all day shows up on that bill. If yours runs and runs, read why an AC runs all day in extreme heat, then call if the house still does not cool.
We repair air conditioners across Sacramento, including Natomas, Land Park, East Sacramento, Arden Arcade, Pocket, Tahoe Park, Oak Park, Elmhurst, Curtis Park and Midtown.
Heating is the other half of the year: see furnace repair in Sacramento. Replacing instead? See AC installation in Sacramento. Or see everything Bronco does in Sacramento. The shop’s own city has AC repair in Roseville, and Bronco is a heating and air conditioning company in Roseville.
A failed part is a repair. Sometimes the numbers point the other way, and you should hear that from the person who looked at the system, with the repair price and the replacement price side by side.
One part has failed on a system that is otherwise sound. A capacitor, a contactor, a fan motor or a dirty coil costs a fraction of a new system, and the system keeps going.
The system is old and a major part has failed, or it keeps needing repair after repair. Ask for both numbers and decide with them in front of you.
If it comes to a replacement, California Title 24 requires a permit and duct testing on most of them. We install Amana, and Bronco offers financing through Wisetack.
An air conditioner that sat idle all winter gets its real test the first week it is hot, and that is when a weak part shows itself. The Bronco maintenance plan is $14.49 a month per system, with a spring visit and a fall visit: a cooling tune-up in spring and a heating tune-up in fall.
Yes. Sacramento is in our service area. Call 916-675-1062, Monday to Friday, 8 to 5. Most no-cooling calls are seen the same day or the next day, and that is not a promise.
It depends on what failed. A technician diagnoses it first, you hear the price for the repair, and you decide. The service call to diagnose the system is $89. If the repair turns into a replacement, Bronco offers financing through Wisetack.
Make sure the thermostat is set to cool and below the room temperature, replace its batteries if it takes them, and replace a clogged filter. If a breaker keeps tripping, do not keep resetting it. If you see ice on the copper line, switch cooling off at the thermostat and run only the fan so it can thaw. Then call and tell Jenn what the system is doing.
Yes. Bronco installs and repairs heat pumps, so one that blows warm air or ices over in summer is a call we take.
